DIY Pit Crew - an improv troupe providing free materials and upgrades, while upcycling / salvaging any broken big wheels at the annual Bring Your Own Big Wheel event.

         

 

Friends and I noticed all of the wreckage at the prior year’s BYOBW - and, after some riffing, we thought to create an upcycling repair shop / parts graveyard. 

What about a clueless, misdirected Pit Crew, that only has broken parts and lots and lots of decor? People could sort through our parts-graveyard while we rodeo clowns offered some dubious (bad) help... but mostly we could consolidate all of the event waste while making people laugh. 

We first brought our ragtag DIY Pit Crew to the event in 2024, then returned in 2025- it’s been a hit.
